Capello Salons & Day Spas has been a leader in satisfaction with cutting-edge beautification services as well as utilizing and offering quality product lines. The beauty industry is constantly evolving with societal tastes and preferences; this has driven Capellos to do the same. Media, politics and technology are consistent in affecting the economy’s standards of what is “trendy,” and Capellos makes it a priority to have a first hand view of changes through research and simply dealing with a large, mixed clientele.
As “eco-friendly,” “organic,” “climate change,” and “environmentalism” have been the buzzwords over the past several years from the hype over the Green movement, Capellos naturally became involved in making change.
In search for ways to make a change in Capellos’ carbon footprint, the expression “it’s the little things that make a big difference” came to mind. The answer became our product line. In efforts to search for a more “eco-friendly” product, the ingredients, manufacturing source, price point, and quality became the necessary variables.
In collaborating with my partner and son-in-law, Joseph Freitas, and my son, Giovanni Lauricella, who spent six months in the rainforests of Costa Rica researching environmental products, we struck gold! Though our findings did not come from the birthplace of eco-travel, Costa Rica, Capellos is proud to say that our new line is American made.
John A. Lauricella and Joseph Freitas’ teamwork with Kenneth Anders and chemist, Irma Jobst, enabled them to create formulas using the ingredients that were sought after. This became the culmination of an interesting quest to maintain Capellos’ edge.
